Cameron MollMatt, Thom and I had a really fun chat with Cameron Moll (pronounced “Mall”… yes, I botched it the first time through–sorry!), Designer, Speaker, Author, and Senior Interaction Designer for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (”The LDS Church”)

For those of you who may not know about the LDS Church, it is a global organization with several million members, whose headquarters is in Salt Lake City, Utah, where this show is recorded.

Hearing Cameron talk about the design challenges for an organization so large, in so many countries and languages, trying to adapt to all the different platforms available, and still not alienate users with the oldest, slowest web-connected technologies… is truly amazing.

Furthermore, Cameron shares with us his love of distraction… the other things in his life that he does to keep from being too serious… too intense about his work.

One of the great items he shared with us is a poster he made in limited edition for a design review held at the Salt Lake City Library. He created the image using only typographic elements. Click the images below, or here, to learn more and see other amazing details from the poster.

We also talked quite a bit about Cameron’s love of mobile design, something he wrote THE BOOK on: Mobile Web Design. And, we also touched on the story behind AuthenticJobs.com, a job board for independent and full-time design professionals.

Finally, he’s totally into wakeboarding and takes a fancy to things colored green.

This was a great interview. Let us know what YOU think about it!
